Genetic Blueprint: DNA Testing for Kids
Give your child the gift of a strong, healthy foundation
Every child has a unique personality.
And as a parent, you have learned what works best for your child — whether it’s the need for calm spaces or constructive outlets for energy, or a gentle approach versus clear, firm boundaries.
Our DNA test is like that, but instead of learning what works for their personalities, you’re learning what works for their bodies.
It helps you understand their unique biological needs: how they process nutrients, what foods suit them best and how they respond to the environment around them. With childhood being a critical window to building lifelong habits, you can now make food and lifestyle choices that are best suited for them — setting the trajectory for their health for decades to come.
Example #1
Vitamin D
Some children have genetic variations that affect how their bodies process vitamin D — meaning they may need more sun, food sources, or supplementation to maintain healthy levels. This is important as vitamin D can impact bone health, immune function, and even mood.
Example #2
Bitter taste perception
Some children are genetically more sensitive to bitter flavors. That means broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and leafy greens may genuinely taste unpleasant to them — it’s not just "picky eating." Knowing this can help you find creative workarounds instead of turning mealtimes into a battle.
This isn't about predicting disease or creating worry. It's about giving you an added layer of understanding — so you can parent with even more clarity and confidence and give your child a strong foundation for lasting, vibrant health.
What you'll learn
The results will reveal insights into how your child's body handles areas like:
- Methylation — their body’s ability to repair cells, process toxins, and manage mood
- Detoxification — how efficiently their body clears environmental chemicals and waste products
- Vitamin metabolism — their ability to absorb and utilize nutrients like vitamin D, B12, and folate
- Food responsiveness — how their body may respond to different foods
Other areas include inflammation, oxidative stress, lipid metabolism, bone health, and insulin sensitivity.
What this test can and cannot do
-
This test can:
Reveal genetic predispositions related to metabolic processes, focusing on genetic variants that can be positively influenced by nutrition and lifestyle changes, giving you practical insights you can put to use.
-
This test cannot:
Diagnose medical conditions, predict disease outcomes, or replace medical advice. It is not a clinical diagnostic tool. Your DNA reveals predispositions, not certainties. Many factors beyond genetics influence how your body actually functions.
What's included
DNA test kit
A simple, painless cheek swab — no needles, no blood, no tears. Collect the sample together at home.
45-minute debrief session
While our sessions are typically conducted via video conferencing, we strongly recommend in-person meetings for children. Being in the same room helps us build rapport, keep your child engaged, and make the experience more fun. Sessions are held at a central meeting room location in Hong Kong.
Your child is welcome and encouraged to attend. We'll explain results in a child-friendly way — using games, analogies, and simple language so they can understand their own body and why certain foods or habits might benefit them.
Pricing
Limited time: HK$5,000
(Original price: HK$5,800)
Includes DNA test kit + 45-minute debrief

A note on age
We recommend this test for children ages 4 and up — old enough to be curious and cooperative with a cheek swab. With that said, if you'd like to test a younger child and can collect a clean sample, you're most welcome to do so.
A parent or legal guardian must consent to the testing and attend the debrief session.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a direct-to-consumer DNA test?
The biggest difference is what the test actually tells you. Most DNA tests focus on disease risk prediction. This test focuses on how your child's body actually works — metabolic processes like how the body processes nutrients, manages inflammation, detoxifies, and more. Think of it as the difference between being told what might go wrong versus being handed a manual for their body, so you know how to take care of it.
With that said, a test is only as useful as the interpretation that comes with it. That's why our test includes a dedicated 45-minute debrief session where we translate your child’s results into plain English — no biology degree required — and give you practical, actionable insights you can actually use.
Is my child's genetic data private?
Yes. The lab we partner with owns their own laboratory — no third party is involved in processing your child's data. Results will only be shared with you as the parent or legal guardian, and we store them securely in accordance with our privacy policy.
What if I want to go deeper after receiving the results?
We do not currently offer ongoing consultations for children. However, depending on your child's health picture and what you're hoping to address, we may be able to offer a limited number of parent coaching sessions.
Are sessions in-person or virtual?
We strongly recommend in-person sessions for children. If you're located outside Hong Kong or strongly prefer virtual, we're happy to accommodate — just let us know when booking.
What's your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
We understand that things can come up unexpectedly. We ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice for any changes to your scheduled appointments. For cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or no-shows, the session will be forfeited. If you arrive more than 30 minutes late, the session will also be considered cancelled. This allows us to protect our time that could have otherwise been offered to another client. Thank you for your understanding.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance or direct billing. However, we're happy to provide a detailed invoice that you may submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement, depending on your policy's coverage. Please check with your provider directly as coverage varies significantly between plans.
