Most DNA tests tell you what diseases you're at risk for.

This one tells you why.

Take high cholesterol as an example. A typical test might say: "You have a genetic risk for high cholesterol."

Our DNA test goes deeper. It looks at genes that reveal how your body actually processes fats and cholesterol, so instead of just knowing you're at risk, you understand why your numbers might be elevated even when you eat well.

Or consider osteoporosis. A typical test might flag a risk for bone density issues.

Our test examines genes that influence how your body utilizes vitamin D and builds bone collagen, so you understand why your bone health may need extra attention, and what you can actually do about it.

We also look at caffeine metabolism, lactose intolerance , detoxification and so much more. So if you’re wondering why you’re wired after a single cup of coffee, bloated after milk but fine with yogurt, or hit an energy crash every afternoon, this test can give you valuable insights.

This isn't about predicting disease or creating worry. It's about replacing guesswork with understanding.

Be curious. Be empowered. And learn to work with your body — not against it.

What you'll learn

Your results will reveal insights into how your body handles areas like:

  • Methylation — your body's ability to repair cells, process toxins, and manage mood
  • Detoxification — how efficiently your body clears environmental toxins and endogenous byproducts
  • Lipid metabolism — how your body processes fats and cholesterol
  • Vitamin metabolism — your ability to absorb and utilize nutrients like vitamin D, B12, and folate

Other areas include inflammation, oxidative stress, bone health, insulin sensitivity, and food responsiveness.

What this test can and cannot do

  • This test can:

Reveal genetic predispositions related to metabolic processes, focusing on genetic variants that can be positively influenced by nutrition and lifestyle changes, giving you practical insights you can put to use.

  • This test cannot:

Diagnose medical conditions, predict disease outcomes, or replace medical advice. It is not a clinical diagnostic tool. Your DNA reveals predispositions, not certainties. Many factors beyond genetics influence how your body actually functions.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a direct-to-consumer DNA test?

The biggest difference is what the test actually tells you. Most direct-to-consumer DNA tests focus on disease risk prediction (for example, "you have a higher risk of Condition X"). This test focuses on metabolic function — how your body processes nutrients, manages inflammation, detoxifies, and more. It answers the "why," not just the "what."

Think of it as the difference between being told what might go wrong versus being handed a manual so you know how to take care of it.

With that said, a test is only as useful as the interpretation that comes with it. That's why our test includes a dedicated 45-minute debrief session where we translate your results into plain English — no biology degree required — and give you practical, actionable insights you can actually use.

I'm relatively healthy. How can this test help me?

Great question. This test isn't just for people with health concerns. It's for anyone who's curious about their body and wants to optimize from a place of empowerment, not crisis.

You'll learn, for example:

  • Whether your body may need more of certain nutrients (like vitamin D or B12)
  • How efficiently you detoxify environmental chemicals
  • What types of foods that may suit you best

Think of it as a user manual for your body. The insights you gain can help you make small, targeted adjustments now, before small things become bigger things.

I'm struggling with persistent symptoms or chronic illness. How can this test help me?

This test can be a valuable piece of your health puzzle, but it's rarely the only piece. Your DNA reveals predispositions, not your current health picture. For example, you might have a genetic variant that affects methylation, but whether that variant is actively contributing to symptoms depends on many other factors, such as diet, stress, environment, gut health, etc.

If you're navigating persistent or complex symptoms, we recommend starting with a consultation first. That way, we can understand your full health history and recommend the most appropriate testing, which may include this DNA test, but could also include other labs such as nutrient testing or toxin panels. DNA is just one tool in the toolbox.

Is my genetic data private?

Yes. The lab we partner with owns their own laboratory — no third party is involved in processing your data. Your results will only be shared with you, and we store them securely in accordance with our privacy policy.

What if I want to go deeper after receiving my results?

You can book a consultation or The Deep Dive, depending on your health picture and the level of support you're looking for. We're happy to help you decide.

Are sessions in-person or virtual?

All sessions are conducted online via a secure video platform. This allows us to work together no matter where you're located, and gives you the flexibility to join from home, work, or while traveling. For clients in Hong Kong who strongly prefer in-person sessions, we can accommodate requests on a case-by-case basis.

What's your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

We understand that things can come up unexpectedly. We ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice for any changes to your scheduled appointments. For cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or no-shows, the session will be forfeited. If you arrive more than 30 minutes late, the session will also be considered cancelled. This allows us to protect our time that could have otherwise been offered to another client. Thank you for your understanding.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance or direct billing. However, we're happy to provide a detailed invoice that you may submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement, depending on your policy's coverage. Please check with your provider directly as coverage varies significantly between plans.
